Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.
